Things You'll Need:
- Hot Coals
- Water
- Sand
- Rake
- Eye Protection
- Step 1 - To prepare for fire walking, first you will need a sandy area approximately 10 feet long. If you are near a beach that it perfect. Otherwise, you will need to lay out a large area of sand. The idea here is to remove all grass and other substance that could catch fire from the hot coals.
Step 2 - Next you will need to heat the coals somehow. You can do this in a huge pit near the sand. Ignite the coals naturally, don't use lighter fluid. The coals will need to heat up for a long period of time until they glow red.
- Step 3 - Next use a shovel and a rake to spread the hot coals in a shallow flat layer over the sandy area about 10 feet long and several feet wide. Use the rake to move them around. You may want to wear eye protection while doing this as hot embers may fly up.

- Walk very quickly across the hot coals. Do not run as this will cause your feet to sink in deeper and will expose more of your foot to the heat. Step 5 - Walk quickly across the hot embers in your bare feet. Do not run across the coals as this will cause you to sink into the hot coals, thus exposing more of the foot to the heat.
